Safety professionals are presented with a myriad of challenges when working to develop occupational safety and health (OSH) systems and improve safety performance. This course teaches safety professionals how to integrate safety into operations by understanding three key pillars of organizations: business, culture, and leadership. Participants will learn business fundamentals, how safety culture develops and can be influenced, and leadership strategies to promote and implement safety initiatives. Through lecture, discussion, and interactive exercises, attendees will apply these concepts to drive positive safety change, improve safety performance, and achieve both OSH and organizational success.

  • Identify the key foundational elements of businesses, including key metrics,
  • Determine the safety culture within the organization,
  • Recognize leadership elements and opportunities, and
